The Richmond City Employees Federal Credit Union has begun taking donations for Richmond Police Department Officer Seara Burton who was wounded Wednesday evening during a traffic stop at North 12th and C streets.

On Wednesday evening, she was in “very critical condition” after being flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. No updates have been provided about her condition today.
Donors are asked to make checks payable to “Blue Angels.”

They can be delivered to the credit union inside Richmond Municipal Building, or mailed to its address, 50 N. 5th St., Richmond, IN 47374.

Donations also can be made via Venmo.

All proceeds will be going to Burton and her family after this tragic event, organizers said.

“Officer Burton was doing her duty to the citizens of Richmond to protect and serve when she was brutally attacked,” a post on the credit union’s page said. “She is a hero who has embodied strength and dedication, please pray for RPD K-9 Officer Burton and her family.”

RCEFCU is a credit union that serves employees of the City of Richmond, Morrison-Reeves Library, GTE/Verizon and Richmond Power and Light (RP&L).
