Annie B. Adams, 98, of Connersville, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Hickory Creek where she had been a resident since October, 2017.

One of six children, she was born on December 24, 1921 to William Ezra and Maggie May (Mcgrew) Whitfield.

On May 30, 1947, she married Robert S. Adams in Connersville. Mr. Adams passed away July 19, 2009.

Annie worked at the Naval Ordnance Plant in Indianapolis during World War II. She also worked at Rex Manufacturing for six years.

An avid sports fan, Annie played softball and basketball in her youth.

Annie was a member of First Baptist Church in Connersville.

Survivors include a son, John S. (Joyce) Adams of Connersville; a daughter, Bonnie J. (Phillip) of Connersville; a brother, Robert Lee (Sherrie) Whitfield; four grandchildren, Jennifer Quinn, Ryan Adams, Kevin Cooper, and Rusty Cooper; and two great-grandchildren, Keisha and Waylon Cooper.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Victor Whitfield, a brother, William E. Whitfield, Jr., and two sisters, Jessie W. Smith and Janice Friend.

Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Mal Gibson at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Annie’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry.
