Ardis F. Schneider, 87, passed away on Saturday December 29, 2018 at The Springs in Richmond.

She was born Aug. 12, 1931, to James and Amy Wetzel in Richmond, Indiana.

She married her husband Paul on Aug. 13, 1950. They enjoyed 65 years together. Ardis was a dedicated farm wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother who was the heart of her family leading with a quiet strength and sweet spirit. She enjoyed time spent with family and loved to spoil the grandchildren. She and her husband enjoyed travelling to Florida each year and many other fun vacations as well. She was a collector of many things including John Deere, Coca Cola, stamps, coins, keychains and Longaberger baskets. She was a member of euchre clubs and enjoyed bowling on several leagues. She loved to read, do puzzles and crochet. She was a member of the Whitewater United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her four children, Son Paul “Gene” (Rita) Schneider, Daughters Barbara (John) Roll, Carol (Keith) Garard and Lea Ann Stigleman; grandchildren Craig, Amy, Karen, Jenny, Jason, Darlene, Michelle, Melanie, Amber and Andrew; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul Schneider, Sister Nilah Cox, Brother James Wetzel and two great grandchildren Gabriel Berger and Makai Berger.

Services for Ardis will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Jim Truelove will officiate. Entombment will immediately follow in Earlham Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 3:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Ardis’s name to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
