RICHMOND, Ind. – Barbara Jean Woolum, age 84, of Richmond, Indiana, went to Heaven to be with her Lord Friday, November 23, 2018, at her home.


Born September 17, 1934, in Richmond, Indiana, to Everett Carl and Marcielle “Marte” Rupe Meyer, Barbara was a life-long resident of Richmond.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Barbara loved to knit, crochet, and sew. She always put others ahead of herself.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty (Bill) Smith of Hamilton, Ohio; sons, Robin Woolum of Centerville, Indiana, and Leonard Woolum of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Monica (Rick) Via, James Woolum and fiancée Taryn Roberts, and Thomas Woolum; great-grandchildren, Desirae and Logan Via; sister, Mary Ropp of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LJ Woolum; mother and stepfather, Marcielle (Thomas) Moore; father and stepmother, Everett (Dora) Meyer; grandson, Justin M.H. Smith; sisters, Joyce Clark and Doris Schroeder; and daughter-in-law, Donna Woolum.
Visitation for Barbara Jean Woolum will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery.
