Betty R. Milliner, 81, of New Castle passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at her home, following an extended illness. She was born on December 18, 1936 in Lewisville, IN to the late Earl Eugene and Ruth (Idlewine) Poer.
Betty was a graduate of Lewisville High School and Ball State University where she earned her Masters Degree in Education. She married the love of her life, Joe Milliner, in August of 1957. The two have been married for 60 years. Betty retired from the South Henry School Corporation following 35 years as an educator. She was a former member of the First Nighters Civic Theatre. Betty enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, quilting and traveling. She will be greatly missed by her husband and loving family.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years, Joseph A. “Joe” Milliner of New Castle; daughter, Tamara Farenga of New Castle, son, Greg A. Milliner of Kokomo and children, Mitchell Joseph Milliner of Muncie and John Kyle Milliner of Kokomo, daughter, Kristie Milliner of New Castle and her son, Brandon Benge of Hagerstown. Betty is also survived by many cousins on the Idlewine side of her family.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 1:30p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Lane Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
