RICHMOND, Ind. – Beverly Jane “Sue” Mills, age 88, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born December 11, 1930, in Richmond, Indiana, to Roy L. and Threase K. Karcher Brown, Sue was a lifelong resident of this community. She was a graduate of Richmond High School.

Sue retired from Belden after 37 years of service and was a member of the Belden 25 Year Club. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Richmond Senior Community Center. Sue enjoyed doing things for others, including baking and was lovingly known as the “Blue Collar Duchess.” She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Ann Showalter of Centerville, Indiana; sons, Michael Steven Mills of Richmond and David Scott (Angel) Mills of Eaton, Ohio; grandchildren, Missy Deaton, Cory Showalter, Lisa (Benji) Lewis, Brian (Maraigh) Mills, David Patrick Mills, Susan Michelle (Travis) Beard, Tyler Hall, and TeAira (Jason) Lawson; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Randy Showalter; sister, Janice Bostick; and brothers, Robert, James, and Thomas Brown.

The family would like to thank Sandy and Jerry Ryan; Ron Pety; Jim and Sue Cook; Dr. Bode, Dr. Hornak, Dr. Riggs, and their staffs; Reid Hospice; and Preacher Paul Nichols.

Per Sue’s wishes, there will be no public services. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
