Bobby Ronald Hicks, 82, died at his home of 58 years Monday morning, April 4th, 2022. Bobby was born in Bristol, Tennessee to Thomas Earl and Neta Lynn (Kite) Hicks on May 7th 1939. Bobby was raised in the Cambridge City area and graduated from Lincoln High School. He retired from Chrysler in New Castle on December 31st, 1998, after 35 years of service, with 25 years in plant protection. He married the former Janet Witters on December 9th, 1962, in Richmond. Bobby enjoyed traveling, family reunions, visiting family in Tennessee and going to the beach. Bobby was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in New Castle.

Bobby is survived by his wife; four children, Kevin Gahret (Ana) of Union City, Indiana, Theresa Toschlog (Kyle Tanner) of Richmond, Rhonda Agee (Tracy), and Bobby Hicks II (Elizabeth) both of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Leah Bergfield of Richmond, Justin Forman (Nicole) of Brookville, Ohio, Kevin Smith (Brent) of Richmond, Maddie Agee of New Castle, Kean Gahret of the Philippines, Caitlin Hicks and Sara Hicks both of Knightstown; and several step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; three brothers, Billy (Nancy) of Eaton, Ohio, Larry (Joni) of Pershing, and Joe (Debbie) Hicks of New Castle; and one sister, Peggy Hook of Cambridge City.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Judy Ptak; brother, Hugh Hicks; son, Wes Briar; grandson, Shea Briar; and infant grandchild Matthews.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7th, 2022, and one hour prior to the  funeral services to be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8th, 2022, at Marshall and Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. David Scalf will be officiating. Burial will follow at Batson Cemetery in rural New Castle, Indiana.
