Cambridge City – Buster Bredahl, 97, passed away Thursday May 16, 2019 at his home in Cambridge City. A son of the late Theodore and Agnes (Zurr) Bredahl, Buster was born on February 12, 1922 in Minot, North Dakota. He lived in Lomita, California which he called home before moving to Cambridge City 14 years ago.
Buster joined the Merchant Marines after high school during which time he traveled to many places, his favorite of which was Hawaii. Before retirement he also worked as a Pipefitter and was a member of the Pipefitter’s Union. In his leisure he enjoyed brick laying, square dancing, ballroom dancing and shuffleboard. He also enjoyed traveling the country in his motorhome before the passing of his wife.
Buster is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathleen whom he married Reno, Nevada in 1955; and two sisters.
Survivors include four children, Cindy (Steven) Smith of Cambridge City; Terry (Paul) McTague, John (Karen) Bredahl, and Patricia Steinbergen; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Following cremation, Buster will return home to California with his family to be interred next to his wife Kathleen. Marshall & Erlewein has been entrusted with the arrangements.
