Carl Edwin Heck, 87, of Connersville, passed away Thursday morning, August 11, 2022 at Reid Health, Richmond.

He was born June 21, 1935 in Connersville to Webster and Hazel Florea Heck, and he was a 1953 graduate of Harrisburg High School.

A veteran, Carl served his country in the United States Army.

On March 15, 1959, he married Patricia Hensley in Connersville. Mrs. Heck survives. Together, they owned and operated Connersville Heating and Air Conditioning for many years.

A farmer, Carl loved working on his farm. When he wasn’t farming, he enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles, and the card game bridge.

He was a past president and member of the Fayette County Fair Board. Greatly involved in the community, Carl was also a member of the Area Planning Commission, Production Credit Board of Directors, Fayette County Co-Op Board of Directors, and the Elks Lodge. A Mason, Carl was a member of Warren Lodge #15 Free & Accepted Masons.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patricia Heck; four children, Carl Heck, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lori (Gary) Riebsomer of Connersville, Cindy (Jay) Bernzott of Connersville, and Randy (Shellie) Heck of Avon, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Ann Heck, Christian Heck, Levi Heck, Adam Heck, Lindsay (Devin) Hornsby, Alex Riebsomer, Sara (David) Spotanski, Andrew (Lindsey) Bernzott, Dane Heck, and Abby Heck; six great grandchildren, Macie Hornsby, Rylie Hornsby, Calvin Spotanski, Summer Kessinger, Lincoln Kessinger, and one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale, Ray, and Lee Heck; a sister, Mary Ann Heck; and a grandson, Evan Heck.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Frank Oakman officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council will be in Dale Cemetery.
