Carolyn J. Durham, age 66, of Greens Fork, Indiana, died unexpectedly Monday, September 25, 2017, at her home.
Born May 10, 1951, in Richmond, Indiana, to Henry Lee and Mary Madden Melton Jr., Carolyn was a life-long resident of Wayne County. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1969. Carolyn loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann and Julene Schoettmer, both of New Castle, Indiana, and Cissy Schoettmer of Greens Fork; sons, Dale Schoettmer Jr. and Matthew (Kerrie) Schoettmer, both of Peru, Indiana, and Steven Schoettmer of New Castle; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Penny Sue (Joe) Sharp of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Teresa (Mike) Helmsing of New Castle; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Preston Webb.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private burial will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
