Clarence Leroy “Ollie” Oliver, Jr.

Clarence Leroy “Ollie” Oliver, Jr., 59, of Connersville passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Reid Health, Richmond. One of seven children of Clarence Leroy, Sr. and Shirley Ann Payne Oliver, Ollie was born in Rhode Island on May 5, 1961 and graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School with the class of 1980. On July 9, 1983, Ollie married the former Pamela Dickey in Connersville. Mrs. Oliver survives. For over 15 years, Ollie was employed with Intat Precision in Rushville until retiring for health reasons.

Ronald D. Wright

Ronald D. Wright, age 83 of Richmond passed away Saturday (February 27, 2021) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, IN on November 7, 1937 to St. Elmo and Edith Haymaker Wright and had lived here all of his life. Ron retired from Alcoa after 30+ years and spent his retirement fishing, playing music and enjoying life with his friends and family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Kay Wright; children Cyndi Wright (Pat Burroughs), Tim (Carlisa) Wright and Ron (Julie) Wright; daughters-in-law Tammy Wright and Tincey Begley; step daughters Marcia Shook and Donna (Daryl) Orebaugh; several grandchildren and many other relatives and dear friends.

Cheryl D. Patterson

Cheryl D. Patterson, DMD, 63, Harrogate, TN, wife of David Shawn Patterson, died Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Baptist Health, Lexington, KY. Born December 24, 1957, in Richmond, IN, she was the daughter of Carol (Horner) Hatfield, Richmond, IN, and the late John Smith. Cheryl was a Univ. of Kentucky Alumnus, a Dentist, and was a member of St. Julian Catholic Church, the American Dental Assoc., and the Virginia Dental Association.

Mark Schlotterbeck

Mark Schlotterbeck, 61, of New Castle went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2021 at The Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, Illinois after a two-year journey with Mantle Cell Lymphoma Cancer. He was born on June 24, 1959 in Richmond, a son of the late Fred and Mary Joan (Tincher) Schlotterbeck. During high school, Mark sang in the New Creations Choir, a Christian singing group in Richmond. He attended Ball State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Teacher Education. Mark just completed his 30th year with the New Castle Community School Corporation teaching students with special needs.

Robert “Bob” Barbour

Robert “Bob” Barbour, 78, of Connersville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Monday morning, March 01, 2021. The only child of William and Beryl Berninger Barbour, Bob was born in Connersville on January 6, 1943 and graduated from Fayette Central High School with the class of 1961. On August 24, 1962, Bob married the former Mary Jarrett in Connersville. Mrs. Barbour survives. For many years, Bob was employed with Design and Manufacturing in Connersville until its closing, then he drove a truck for Schneider National until his retirement.

Nancy Roberta May Gray Smith

Nancy Roberta May Gray Smith, 84, of Richmond, passed away February 26, 2021, at Rosebud Village after a long illness. She was born January 20, 1937, in Richmond to Charles and Lucy Davis Gray and lived in this area most of her life. Nancy retired from Nettle Creek Industries where she worked as a seamstress. She also practiced the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (David) Breeden of Richmond, two sons Bob Wardlow of Portland, Darren (Kim) Smith of Richmond; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.

Ronald Fellers

Ronald Fellers, of Boston, IN, passed away on February 24, 2021, at Reid Health due to heart failure. He was born March 8, 1966, at Reid Hospital to Sherrill Fellers JR and Harriett Green-Fellers. Ron had lived most of his life in Wayne County. He was a liver transplant survivor since 2005; but developed heart issues years later.  He was thankful and blessed to have received his transplant therefore at his passing he gave the gift of Life to others. He is survived by his wife, Gina Picciotto Fellers; his father: Sherrill (Marsha) Fellers; his mother: Harriett Marquis; three sisters: Pattie Maiden, Carol Bufford and Connie (Dean) Lewis; brother: Dean (Tina) Fellers; stepbrother: Greg Blair; and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn Ann “Mimi” (Crews) Kaufman

Marilyn Ann “Mimi” (Crews) Kaufman passed into the presence of her dear Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 22, 2021 at home with the love of her family around her. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. Marilyn was born on January 29, 1933 to Edwin and Helen (Schriefer) Crews in Chrisney, IN. She graduated from Boonville High School and attended Indiana University where she met the love of her life, Ted Kaufman. Marilyn and Ted were married September 16, 1951 and settled in Liberty in 1962 where they raised their four children in a community they all cherished for nearly 55 years until declining health moved them to live with their daughter and son-in-law in Richmond.

Emma Lou Shadle

Emma Lou Shadle, passed away peacefully at the age of 92, on Thursday February 25, 2021. Emma was born  on February 17, 1929 in Riceville NY to Herbert and Lulu Hedges, and graduated from Centerville High School. She worked as an optometrist assistant for many years with Dr. Timpson. She ended her career at the age of 84 at Adaires, baking pies and waiting tables. She was a caregiver to several families in the Centerville area and help deliver meals on wheels, before moving to TN to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Jane Ellen Smith

Jane Ellen Smith, age 65, a New Castle resident, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. She was born September 29, 1955 in New Castle, Indiana and was a daughter of the late John and Maxine Vaughn Mark. She was a high school graduate and spend many years as the wife of a career military serviceman. She and her husband, John Smith, were stationed many places around the world. Jane was a member of the Church of LatterDay Saints and had worked for the Indiana School for the Blind and Deaf.
