Liberty – I’m writing my obituary in advance so my family will not have to do it upon my death. Also, I wanted my obituary to be a little different than the norm. Most likely I have passed away due to some complication of ALS (commonly referred to as Lou Gerhig’s Disease). I was diagnosed with ALS on September 23, 2011 at the age of 38. Let me just say… ALS Sucks!

Ellen “Juanita” Crouch

Ellen “Juanita” Crouch, 93, of Whitewater, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her home. Juanita was born on March 21, 1928 in Richmond to the late Oscar Eli Pugh and Ruth Helen (Gardener) Grogg. She attended Richmond High School. Juanita married Edgar Leo Crouch in December 1946. Juanita was a homemaker raising five children.

Howard Wayne Orr

Howard Wayne Orr, age 87 passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, in New Castle, Indiana. Wayne was born near Millville, Indiana, April 27, 1934 and lived in New Castle most of his life. He attended New Castle, Millville, and Greensboro schools, and worked at the Chrysler factory retiring in 1987. He was a member of the local U.A.W, Chrysler Credit Union, and Loyal Order of the Moose for 60 years. He was past-President of the Indiana Moose Association earning the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member.

Ted J. Keller

Ted J. Keller, age 80, of Richmond, died Sunday afternoon (April 2, 2021) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on April 28, 1941 to Theodore and Carolyn Keller and had lived in this area all his life. Ted loved hunting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors and most of all his grandchildren. He was a great machinist, a hard-working father and husband. He had great passion in coaching baseball for many years and sharing the knowledge of the game to all ages.

Devin Storm Hathaway

Devin Storm Hathaway, 28, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home in Connersville. Devin was born in Oxford, Ohio on February 21, 1993 and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 2011. For the last five years, Devin was employed with Herdrich Petroleum, currently serving as manager of 30th Street Shell. A people person, Devin had an outgoing personality and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his leisure time, he enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indiana Pacers, and was active with the #1134 Rev-It-Up derby car team.

Phillip Q. Miller

Phillip Q (PQ) Miller, Fort Pierce Florida and formerly of Richmond Indiana, left this earth with a golden fishing rod in his hand on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He is currently fishing in the best fishing lake in Heaven. He was known by most as “PQ” as he was given that nickname by his father after his birth when he was informing his other children of the new arrival to the family. PQ graduated from Boston High School, Boston Indiana in 1961 where he was known for his outstanding athletic ability in both baseball and basketball. He retired from Alcoa in Richmond after 25 years and also worked at AVCO and Green Acres in Richmond.

Joe C. Purcell

Joe C. Purcell, age 88, of Centerville, Indiana, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Pineknoll Rehabilitation Centre in Winchester, Indiana. Joe was born March 7, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to Simmie and Mary Tudor Purcell. He began working at AVCO at the age of 17 and was employed there until it closed. After retiring, Joe owned and managed several small businesses. He enjoyed working and was a hard worker throughout his lifetime.

Doris P. Richardson

Doris P. Richardson, 90 of Liberty passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. She was born on March 31, 1931 in Franklin County to Jesse Sellers Sr. and Mattie Allen Sellers. Doris was a 1950 graduate of Alquina High School. She was long time member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and most recently Hanna Creek Christian Church. On September 17, 1950 she married Charles L. Richardson in Liberty.

Terry Lee Hunter

Terry Lee Hunter, 65 or Richmond, passed away May 4, 2021 in his home. He was born April 20, 1956 in Richmond to Virgil and Joan Perry Hunter and lived here all of his life. He was a jack of all trades; he loved to listen to music and watch movies. He is survived by his daughter Katara Alcorn of Richmond, four grandchildren Miley, Jaden, Zoey, Brent Jr., one sister Brenda Shaffer of Richmond, one nephew Tim Hunter of Richmond. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his son Josh Hunter.

Jessie Faye Brogdon

Jessie Faye Brogdon, 78, of Lynn, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Reid Health in Richmond. She was born in Ten Mile, TN on February 22, 1943 to James and Grace (Lemons) Harrison and lived most of her life in Wayne and Randolph counties. Her Christian faith was very important to her and it remained steadfast throughout her life. She enjoyed raising her children and always prayed for their safety and well being. She took great pride in being a homemaker.
