Charlotte Dudley

Charlotte Dudley, 93, of New Castle, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2020, at the Rawlins House in Pendleton where she had resided to be near her daughter. She was born on January 30, 1927 in Wilkinson, Indiana, a daughter of the late Elmer and Arnel (Kelley) Supinger. Charlotte was a 1945 graduate of New Castle High School. While working at New Castle Loan Company, she met the love of her life, Boyden Dudley, whom she married on July 12, 1948. For many years, Charlotte operated the Merle Norman Studio in downtown New Castle for her mother-in-law, Minnie Dudley.

Evelyn L. Chasteen

Evelyn L. Chasteen, age 96, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, November 20, 2020, at Ambassador Healthcare. Born February 11, 1924, in Stop, Kentucky, to Minville L. and Lola E. Upchurch Morris, Evelyn lived in Richmond most of her life. She worked as a clerk at Richmond Gas Corporation for 25 years. Evelyn was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her son, Mel (Sandy) Chasteen of Richmond; granddaughters, Lisa (Ron) Huckery of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Lori (Seth) Smith of Brownsville, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Katelyn (Alex) Monson of Monterey, California, and Joshua Huckery and Holden (Shelby) Smith, both of Ohio; sisters, Sharon Marshall and Helen Martin, both of California; brothers, Everett (Joan) Morris and David (Peggy) Morris, both of California and Donald E. (Becky) Morris of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

Diane Wendell (Groves)

Diane Wendell (Groves), New Castle, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Ball Memorial Hospital. Diane was born April 11, 1942, in New Castle. She was a 1960 graduate of New Castle High School and attended DePauw and Indiana Universities. Diane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and worked as the Christian Education Director for many years at Presbyterian Churches in New Castle, Indianapolis and Richmond. Diane was renowned for her Christmas decor and annual Christmas party at her home in New Castle.

Elizabeth Ann (Unser) Thistlethwaite

Elizabeth Ann (Unser) Thistlethwaite 92, Richmond, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at home with her family. She was born February 1, 1928, in Richmond, Indiana to Henry F. and Juanita (Taylor) Unser and lived in Richmond her entire life. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA, and Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Richmond. On August 14, 1948, she married Forest Thistlethwaite and they were happily married for 44 years.

James Ray “Buzz” Pollitt

James Ray “Buzz” Pollitt, 55, of Connersville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 19, 2020. A son of Terry and Jewel Carey Horning, Buzz was born in Connersville on February 7, 1965. In his leisure time, Buzz enjoyed playing video games, riding his scooter, and spending time with his family. Survivors include a brother, Randall (Vicky) Pollitt of Liberty; aunt, Wendy (Ron) Evans of Connersville; uncle, Delbert (Karen) Carey of Connersville; and several nieces and nephews. Buzz was preceded in death by his mother; stepfather, Terry Horning; grandparents, Lewel and Mae Carey; and two uncles, Leon Carey and Allen Ray Carey.

Marilyn J. Valentine

Marilyn J. Valentine, 83, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, November 18, 2020, at Reid Health, Richmond. The only child of Floyd and Thelma Hinskie Chance, Marilyn was born in Fayette County, Indiana on May 23, 1937, and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1955. For almost ten years, Marilyn was employed in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart. A lady of faith, Marilyn attended several area churches throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking, attending bazaars, and loved life.

Sandra Marlene Logan

Sandra Marlene Logan, 70, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, November 19, 2020 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born December 27, 1949 in Connersville, one of four children of Virgil and Beatrice Burch Peters. She was a 1968 graduate of Connersville High School. On June 28, 1969, she was married at Calvary Baptist Church to David C. Logan of Connersville who survives. For over 25 years, she was an executive secretary at Fayette Memorial Hospital.

John Timothy “Tim” Harkleroad

John Timothy “Tim” Harkleroad, age 66, of Richmond, Indiana, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at his home. Born December 6, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, to Robert L. and Marlene A. Phelps Harkleroad, Tim was a life-long resident of this community. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1972. Tim retired from Belden in 2015, after 43 years of service and was a member of the Belden 25 Year Club. He was also a member of St.

Betty J Riley

Betty J Riley, formerly of Centerville and a longtime resident of Arbor Trace, died Nov. 17. Betty was born on Oct. 29, 1939, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to Sylvanus and Gemima Baker Durham. The family later settled in Liberty.

David W. Jennings

David W. Jennings, age 60, of New Paris, Ohio passed away at Hospice in Franklin, Ohio on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He was born February 23, 1960 in Richmond, IN to Albert D. Jennings and the late Margaret (Jefferis) Jennings. He was a 1978 graduate of National Trail High School. David enjoyed playing sports like baseball and softball. David had a great slow pitch and a hard throw that he enjoyed “burning” up the receiver of that catch.
