Betsy E. Flamm

Betsy E. Flamm, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Reid Health. Betsy was born in Anna, Illinois, on September 8, 1934, the daughter of George & Ruth Sifford Bacon. Betsy was a homemaker and worked for the US Postal Service for many years before retiring from the Webster, Indiana, Post Office. She loved her grandchildren and animals. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies and NCIS.

Richard Lee Johnson

Richard Lee Johnson departed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at the Providence Post-Acute Care in Anderson, Indiana. He was born on June 29, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert Johnson and Harriet Chestnut. He served in the United States Air Force as a refueling specialist. After he was honorably discharged from the USAF, he returned to Muncie, Indiana and worked at Ball State University, was the owner of Johnson’s Janitorial Services, and retired from New Venture Gear, a General Motors affiliate. After retirement, he owned and operated Johnson’s Antiques and Collectibles.

Rickey Lee Hawkey

Rickey Lee Hawkey 57 of Miamisburg died away April 7, 2020 at Sycamore Glen Health Center after a long illness. He was born December 2, 1962 in Greenville, Ohio to Dale Lee and Roberta Ann Pohlschneider Hawkey and lived in Richmond most of his life. He is survived by his daughter Opal Hawkey of Eaton, one son William Gilbert of Eaton, four grandchildren, one brother Kenny Stevens of Richmond, three nephews and one niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his significant other Michael Bass. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Mary A. (Hopkins) Rohe

Mary A. (Hopkins) Rohe, age 97, of Richmond passed away Wednesday (April 1, 2020) at Reid Health. Mary was born on July 20, 1922 in Webster, Indiana to Charles and Hallie Hopkins. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Mary was a member of Richmond Fire Department Ladies Auxillary. Survivors include children Mark (Pat) Rohe of Richmond and Nancy (Gary) Klemann of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren Kelley (Adam) Shaver of Lockport, NY, Thomas Klemann of Goose Creek, SC, Mary Kristin (David) Wesolowski of Williamsville, NY, Jason (Stacey) Rohe of Williamsburg, IN and Jessica Yount of Webster, IN; brother Russell of Port Charlotte, Florida; great grandchildren Wayne Yount, Alizah Rankin, Estella Rohe, Ella Wesolowski,, Abby Wesolowski and Jake Wesolowski.

Bobby Gene Grose

Bobby Gene Grose, 86, of Punta Gorda, Florida and formerly of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 5, 1933 in Stop, Kentucky to the late William and Elva Emma (Mikels) Grose. Bobby was a 1951 graduate of New Castle High School and later joined the military serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Allison Gas Turbine in Indianapolis following 40 years of service. Bobby was an active member at First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda for many years.

Edith Elizabeth Meyer

Edith Elizabeth Meyer, aged 97, died surrounded by loved ones on April 5th, 2020 at The Springs Nursing Home in Richmond. Edith was born May 22nd 1922 just outside of Milton, Indiana to James and Susan May, the fifth of six children. She graduated from Milton High School in 1940. She remained a lifelong resident. She married Joseph Meyer on May 23rd 1942 prior to his being deployed overseas to serve in WWII.

Wendell W. “Wendy” Morrison

Wendell W. “Wendy” Morrison, 72, of Connersville boarded the Navy Victory Ship to Heaven on Thursday, April 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. One of eight children of Joseph and Margaret Mae Bishop Morrison, Wendy was born on October 6, 1947, in Fayette County. He graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1967, and following graduation he proudly served his country by sea in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he returned to his hometown of Connersville. Wendy was employed for several years at National Metal and for over 29 years as a machinist for Visteon and its predecessors.
