Edith Elizabeth Meyer

Edith Elizabeth Meyer, aged 97, died surrounded by loved ones on April 5th, 2020 at The Springs Nursing Home in Richmond. Edith was born May 22nd 1922 just outside of Milton, Indiana to James and Susan May, the fifth of six children. She graduated from Milton High School in 1940. She remained a lifelong resident. She married Joseph Meyer on May 23rd 1942 prior to his being deployed overseas to serve in WWII.

Wendell W. “Wendy” Morrison

Wendell W. “Wendy” Morrison, 72, of Connersville boarded the Navy Victory Ship to Heaven on Thursday, April 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. One of eight children of Joseph and Margaret Mae Bishop Morrison, Wendy was born on October 6, 1947, in Fayette County. He graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1967, and following graduation he proudly served his country by sea in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy he returned to his hometown of Connersville. Wendy was employed for several years at National Metal and for over 29 years as a machinist for Visteon and its predecessors.

Andrew W. “Roach” Worley Sr.

Andrew W. “Roach” Worley Sr., age 43, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, April 4, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. Andy was born on May 7, 1976, in Richmond, Indiana, and lived in this community most of his life. He was a 1995 graduate of Richmond High School. Andy worked at Primex Plastics Corporation and previously worked at Jiffy Lube. He was a life-long member of the White Water Valley Motorcycle Club.

John F. “Johnny” Hartley

John F. “Johnny” Hartley, 79, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at home. He was born March 7, 1941 to John D. Hartley and Ruth Hartley. He graduated from Short High School in 1959 and attended automotive and diesel trade school in Nashville, Tennessee. He worked at Grimme Dist. Co., Brunner Motor Co., and Montgomery-Jones Service in Liberty.

Joe A. Cela

Joe A. Cela 83 of Richmond died March 21, 2020 at Friends Fellowship Community. He was born January 1’7, 1937 in Richmond to Sam and Virginia Rugler Cela and lived here all his life. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Holy Family campus. Survivors include his nieces and nephews Sam, Keith and Nick Hubbell, Lynn Spoonemore, and Amelia Vetrone. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Grace Hubbell and Gloria Bishop.

Charlie Bruce Stewart

Charlie Bruce Stewart, age 80, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville, Indiana. Bruce was born on October 23, 1939, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Will and Minnie Stewart. He moved to Richmond in 1965 and lived here for the rest of his life. Bruce worked as a tool and die maker at Wayne Corporation for 39 years and later worked at Meg Manufacturing until he retired. He was a fan of Centerville athletics, where he greatly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

Charles Rose

Charles Rose, 85, of Connersville passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Reid Health, Richmond. One of seven children, he was born on April 23, 1934 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Charlie and Blanche (Jones) Rose. On December 8, 1967, Charles married Anna Ruth Isaacs. Mrs. Rose survives. Charles worked at McQuay Norris several years before starting his career as a machinist at Roots Connersville Blower where he retired from.

Sue Ann Waddell

Sue Ann Waddell, 63, of Connersville, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Reid Health of Richmond. Sue was born August 4, 1956 in Elwood, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Jeanann (Fecher) Flowers, and came with her family in 1958 to Connersville, and was a 1975 graduate of Connersville High School. For a number of years, she was employed as an administrative assistant for Dot Foods. In her leisure, Sue enjoyed bowling and being outdoors. Survivors include her husband Barry Waddell; her mother, Jeanann Meek of Connersville; her siblings: Janet Hughett of Connersville, Scott Meek of Connersville, Jerry (Pam) Northern of Connersville, Sarah (Joe) Becker of Connersville, and Scott (Melissa) Flowers of West Fort Myers, Florida; an aunt, Dorothy Shepard of Atlanta, Indiana; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

M. Duane Chenowith

M. Duane Chenowith, age 75, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at The Springs of Richmond. Born February 24, 1945, in Richmond, Indiana, to Max and Maxine Dinkins Chenowith, Duane lived in Richmond all of his life. He was a 1964 graduate of Richmond High School. Duane was a well-known athlete in both baseball and basketball, during which he established the phrase, “If you aren’t bleeding or dirty, then you didn’t play the game.” Duane joined the Marine Corps in 1968.

Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Ray

Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Ray, age 79, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family. He had bravely fought and beat cancer, but the treatments eventually beat him. Born October 31, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, to Hendren Sr. and Vergie Middleton Ray, Kenny lived in Richmond most of his life. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1959. Kenny retired from Tom Raper RV, where he worked in sales for over 20 years, and previously worked at Fred First Ford.
