Richmond, IN – Dorothy Shockney, 90, went to be with the Lord, Sunday July 30, 2017 at the Herritage House of Richmond. She was born May 17th, 1927 in Randolph County, IN, daughter of the late Richard S. and Mary (Clevenger) Woods. Dorothy was an artist, enjoyed gardening, helped her husband farm, and enjoyed traveling. She will be missed by her family of 3 daughters, Penny A. (Charles) Anderson, Gena S. (Daniel) Sweet, Arlinda L. (Lynn) Bond; grandchildren, Kelsey (Patrick) Anderson-Conrad, Nicholas Anderson, Dillon Sweet, Emily Sweet, Kathy Bond, Tony (Debbie) Bond, Robert (Shawnda) Bond, Denise Bond; brother-in-law, J (Shirley) Shockney; 8 great grand children and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded by her parents; husband of 64 years, Bill G. Shockney “2012;” a son, Richard Alyn Shockney; siblings, Betty Hylton, William F. Wood, Charles M. Wood, and Richard A. Wood.

Connersville, IN – Jack Witt, 82, of Connersville passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 2, 2017 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. The youngest of four children of Lloyd and Matttie Begley Witt, Jack was born on October 19, 1934 in Madison County, Kentucky. As a child, he came to Fayette County, Indiana with his family and graduated Connersville High School with the class of 1953. In April of 1953, he enlisted in the United States National Guard. He was discharged with the rank of Sargent after serving for seven years.

Richmond, IN – Lois Caroline Daggy, age 96, Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Arbor Trace Nursing Home on Monday, July 3, 2017. She was born in Richmond on June 30, 1921 to Edgar and Freda (Kehlenbrink) Hirschfield. She was a 1939 graduate of Morton High School. Lois loved God, enjoyed people and participated in many organizations and activities in the Richmond area. She was a 75 year member of the First Christian Church where she taught Sunday school, served as the Librarian, sang in the choir, was an active member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and held many leadership positions.

Richmond, IN – Lt Col William Judson Smith, age 90, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at Forest Park Health Campus. Bill was born on March 11, 1927, in Ravenswood, West Virginia, to George William and Adra Eleanor Noland Smith. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Bill retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1976, after 27 years of service. He was a member of St.

Centerville, IN – David Cline 86 of Centerville passed away July 31, 2017 at the Dayton V.A. after a long illness. He was born August 12, 1930 in Twin Branch, West Virginia to Amos and Ollie Barlow Cline and lived in this area most of his life. He retired from NATCO where he was a journeyman machinist. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded a bronze star. He is survived by his three daughters Ramona K. (Joe) Gwinn of Richmond, Kathy Lynn Cline of Richmond, Janie Sue Cline of Oregon, two grandchildren Joseph Gwinn, Erin Powell, six great grandchildren Taylor, Keygan, Madison, Emma, Braeden, Brice; eight brothers and sisters Amos, Donald, Kenneth, Joan, Lois, Juanita, Ellis, Norman, several nieces and nephews.
