Betty L. Bell Armstrong 91 of Richmond died January 5, 2017 at her home. She was born April 21, 1925 in Richmond to Orbra M. and Nellie Maines Bell and lived here all her life. She graduated from Richmond High School and attended Richmond Business School. She was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Decca Records until she married Richard “Dick” Armstrong December 6, 1947.

CAMBRIDGE CITY- Sandra K. “Sandi” DeBruler, 48, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of January 4, 2017. Sandi was born in New Castle, Indiana on March 12, 1968. She lived most all of her life in the Cambridge City-Western Wayne community and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1986. She earned and associate degree from Ivy Tech and was employed by Finance Systems in Richmond. Sandi was a member of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 Women’s Auxiliary.

Melanie Elaine (Parker) Conyers, 79, of Cambridge City, transitioned into the spiritual realm on Monday, January 2, 2017, after a short illness. She was born in Indianapolis on October 9, 1937 to Charles and Maude(Surber) Parker. Melanie grew up in Cambridge City and graduated from Lincoln H.S. in 1953. She married Donald Leroy Conyers on December 26, 1953 and was mother to Cynthia Ann, Gregory Donald and Jeffrey Charles. Melanie was a loving and supportive wife and mother, as the family resided in various eastern states over the course of Don’s successful career with The American Water Works.

RICHMOND, Ind. – Rhea Irene Benner Toschlog, age 93, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Reid Health. She was born September 9, 1923, to Everett and Naomi Filby Benner at home in Boston, Indiana, where she grew up. Rhea graduated from Boston High School in 1941. She worked at the Richmond Gas Office until she married Robert R. Toschlog on April 12, 1947.

Born April 23, 1944, in Fountain City, Indiana, Ron was a life-long resident of Wayne County. He worked at Belden for 40 years and was a courier for Mid-American Clinical Lab.

CAMBRIDGE CITY – Ruth C. Cole, 83, passed away January 2, 2017. Ruth was born in Mt. Polaski, Illinois on Christmas Day in 1933. Because her father passed away when she was three years old, Ruth and her sisters were raised at the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Home in Knightstown from where she graduated high school. Formerly of New Castle, Ruth had lived in Milton prior to moving to Cambridge City 30 years ago.

Wayne Martin Robbins, 77, of Cambridge City, Indiana passed peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born March 30, 1939 in Rush County, Indiana to the late Robert Nelson and Della Garnet (Hitchel) Robbins. Wayne was a 1957 graduate of Orange High School in Fayette County and attended Ball State University in Muncie. He was previously employed at AVCO Corp.
