Lela Alice Shroyer Herr of Richmond, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 6, 2017 at age 97. Lela was born in Millgrove, Indiana on April 10, 1920 to Russell and Mary (Orndorff) Shroyer. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sidney (George) Shank, Wayne (June) Shroyer, and Janice (Joel) Wagoner. Lela graduated from Montpelier High School in 1937 and from Ball State Teachers’ College in 1942. She taught Home Economics at New Lisbon High School and music at Ashland and Millville Schools.
MILTON- Gloria Bicknell, 57, passed away at her home in Milton early Monday morning November 6, 2017. A daughter of the late John E. and Phyllis J. (Glisson) Grubbs, Gloria was born in New Castle, Indiana on April 15, 1960. Gloria grew up in the Jacksonburg community. She and her family moved to Hagerstown where she graduated high school with the class of 1978. Gloria retired from the Richmond State Hospital in July of 2015 after 30 years of service.
CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind – Jewel Feaster, age 80, of Cambridge City, Indiana, died Saturday, November 4, 2017, at her home. Born January 10, 1937, in Rose Hill, Virginia, to Thomas and Effie Wooten Rainwater, Jewel was the 10th of 14 children. She lived in Wayne County for most of her life. Jewel retired from MasterBrand Cabinets after more than 30 years of service. Survivors include her sons, Harold Sorrell Jr. and Kim Sorrell, both of Cambridge City; grandson, Jacob Lowery; and special niece, Melissa Bobbitt of Cambridge City.
RICHMOND, Ind. – Charles E. Ferguson, age 65, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, November 5, 2017, at his home. Born November 28, 1951, in Lexington, Kentucky, to William Dugan and Evelyn Joyce Woolums Ferguson, Charlie lived in this community most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army. Charlie retired from NSK in December 2015.
