Cathy Louise Rummel, 61, Williamsburg, passed away early Tuesday morning September 7, 2021 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana after a long battle with Lupus. A daughter of the late Eugene Charles and Charlotta Mae “Lottie” (Hawk) Rummel, Cathy was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 17, 1959. Cathy was raised south of Knightstown in Rush County and attended school in Mays and Carthage before graduating from Knightstown High School with the class of 1978. A homemaker, she has lived in Williamsburg for the past 27 years. Cathy enjoyed being outside, cutting wood, shoveling snow and raising her chickens. She loved all animals, especially her cats and dogs.
Survivors include her life partner of 37 years, Tom Merkamp; 4 siblings, Randy (Linda) Rummel, Vickie (Jeff) Toon, Tim (Brenda) Rummel and Cammy (Jeff) Theobald; nieces and nephews. Cathy was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Rummel on October 8, 2010.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. on Friday September 10, 2021 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Pastor Doug Shilts will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.
