RICHMOND, Ind. – Charles “Doug” Goins, age 73, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, January 14, 2019, at Reid Health.

Born April 4, 1945, in Warsaw, Kentucky, to Carl and Ruby Hartman Goins, Doug lived in this community most of his life. He retired from Kemper Cabinets in 2008, after working as a painter for 43 years. Doug was a member of New Apostolic Church and had formerly served as a deacon for 25 years. He loved his church, where they still lovingly referred to him as “Deacon Goins” and everyone was a friend to him.

Survivors include his daughter, Lore (Jeff) Parrett of Williamsburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Aaron and Kyle Parrett; great-grandson, Abel Parrett; sisters, Dorothy Kincaid and Dela (Fred) Harden; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including some very special neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his children, Laura, Melissa, and Ricky Goins; parents; sister, Madelyn Goins; and brother, Danny Goins.

Memorial visitation for Charles “Doug” Goins will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019, at New Apostolic Church, 404 West Main Street, Centerville. Memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019, at New Apostolic Church with District Elder Jauss officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
