Clarice Lanham Pennington, 88, of Naples, Florida, and formerly Connersville, began the new year by moving into her mansion in Heaven on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.
She was born on October 12, 1929, in London, Kentucky, and is the daughter of the late Reverend Ballard Lanham and Mary Oakley Lanham.
On November 2, 1946, she married Herman “Butch” Pennington in Ludlow, Kentucky. They were able to share almost 59 years together before he passed on July 5, 2005.
Clarice loved to spend her time crocheting, doing needlepoint, and going fishing.
She is survived by three daughters, Pamela (Frank) Bentley, of Greenfield, IN, Toni (Tom) Berry, of Liberty, IN, and Jane Hazeltine, of Cambridge City, IN; four sons, Jeffery Pennington, of Naples, FL, Mike Pennington, of Ft. Meyers, FL, Randy (Tracy) Pennington, of Bossier City, LA, and Ron (Wanda) Pennington, of Connersville, IN; a brother, James Lanham, of W. Harrison, IN; fourteen grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many, many, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Lutherbeck and Sonia Reid; four brothers, Ralph Lanham, Ronnie Lanham, Billy Lanham, and Benny Lanham, and a grandson, Brian Pennington.
The funeral service for Clarice will be officiated by her grandson, Rev. James Pennington, pastor of Family Life Assembly in Franklin, Indiana and held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10:00am, at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.
Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Monday, January 8 from 5:00-8:00pm.
