Clay Allen Purnell, 25, of New Castle passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 following injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born September 11, 1996 in New Castle to Melonie (Black) Friddle and Ryan Purnell.

Clay attended New Castle High School and later earned his GED through IVY Tech Community College. He had worked at LJ’s Quick Mart for several years but currently was employed at Avery Dennison in Greenfield. Clay loved having a good time wherever he was and would always enjoy a cold beer with friends. He lived life to the fullest and loved many things including anything outdoors, fishing with grandpa, kayaking, swimming, music, concerts, cooking, gaming and traveling with friends. Clay was selfless and would put others needs before his own. He will be greatly missed by all his life touched.

He is survived by his parents, Melonie Friddle and Ryan Purnell, fiancé, Michaela Current; brother, Nicolas Friddle; father figure, Jason Friddle; grandparents, Kathy (Frank) Purnell, Carol (Mark) Mifsud, Charles (Tana) Black; aunt and uncles, Diana (Jim) Kinnaman, Mandy (Brian) Belt and their children and Mandy Garner and her daughter, Maddox Purnell; great aunt, Nita Young; cousins, Cameron Kinnaman (Alyssa Ketron) and Courtney (David) Lentz; extended Mifsud family and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his uncle, Eric Purnell and lifelong dog, Sebastian.
