Cletis E. “Rusty” Gethers, 93, passed away Wednesday afternoon September 19, 2018 at the home of her daughter near Williamsburg. A daughter of the late Jesse Alan and Eva (Storie) Boggs, Rusty was born in Richmond, Indiana on December 29, 1924. She was a graduate of Centerville High School with the class of 1943. Rusty lived most of her life in Richmond and retired from Belden Corp. in 1988 after 41 years of service. She was a member of Faith Trinity United Methodist Church and its predecessor Alliance Bible Church. In her younger years, Rusty enjoyed riding he Harley Davidson motorcycle. The two things that brought the most joy to her life were her church and family.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Debra “Debbie” McComis of Williamsburg, Bobbye Louise (Dennis) Allman of Middletown and Johnnye Lynn (Ed Byrd) Hendrix of Liberty; 2 sons, Michael Clifford Gethers of Gig Harbor, WA and Robert Oliver “Rob” Gethers of Richmond; 8 grandchildren, Josh Emrick, Joe Hendrix, Misty and Megan Gethers, Treasa Hartstein, Cassie and Larry Maines and Amanda Grout;several great and great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Ruby German of Fresno, CA; nieces and nephews.
Rusty was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jessie Jo Emrick; grandson, Clayton Wayne Hendrix; great-great grandson, Jacoby Fleagle; 4 siblings, Juanita Henry, Ruth Johnson, Dorman Boggs and Jesse Boggs Jr..
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 3 p.m. on Saturday September 22, 2018 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Pastor Reuben Dunckel Jr. will officiate. Private burial will be at Crown HIll Cemetery in Centerville.
