Courthouse closed; here’s how to work with clerk’s office

Wayne County officials have closed the courthouse to the public after Indiana’s governor has ordered Hoosiers to stay home to fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

During this time, the Clerk’s Main Office, Small Claims/Traffic and Voters Registration is limited in staffing onsite and will work from home.

Effective immediately, and until further notice, Wayne County Clerk Debbie Berry encourages Wayne County citizens to use alternate methods for payments as listed below.

Marriage Licenses
issued on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
Please start your marriage license application online at: https://mycourts.in.gov/mlpublic/
And then call 765-973-9220 to make an appoint in order to finalize the application and receive your marriage license. Payment of $20 by cash or credit card only. No personal checks.

3) You may submit your request by mail. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and payment. $1 per page, plus additional $1 for certification. (1 page would be $2; 5 pages would be $6)
