David Eugene Gabbard, age 68, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born August 14, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, to Aaron Gabbard and Georgia Hensley Gabbard Moore, David was a life-long resident of Richmond. He was self-employed as an antique dealer. David enjoyed playing the guitar, especially music from the Eagles, John Prine, The Beatles, and gospel songs; and antiques.
Survivors include his wife, Karen James Gabbard, to whom he was married May 31, 1986; daughters, Jera (Daniel) Smith of Richmond, Heather Gabbard (Terry Meece), of Richmond, and Tara (Arron) Stanton of Westfield, Indiana; son Billy (Jennifer) Gabbard of Castine, Ohio; ten grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie (Ronald) Elliott of Connersville, Indiana, Eva (Robert) Woodhurst of Richmond; brother Danny Gabbard of Hamilton, Ohio; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for David Eugene Gabbard will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Chalk officiating.
