David H. Tidrow, 80, of Liberty, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Whitewater Commons Living Facility, Liberty, Indiana.
He was born on August 14, 1938 to the late Hobart and Mona Tidrow in Albany, Kentucky. David Tidrow graduated at Centerville High School 1956. He then got drafted to serve in United States Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. When he returned home he went back to work at A&P Grocery’s to become district manager. He then went onto Indiana University obtaining degrees in Psychology, during such time A&P closed so he went to manage Longs Grocery in Richmond, Indiana. After his schooling he went to work as a Social Worker, providing care and many things that people could not do on their own at Dunn Mental Health Center (Aka Cornerstone Behavioral Health Center) in Richmond, Indiana. He suffered a stroke in late 2012, which then caused him to have to retire; taking him 6 months to recover. With the help of his children (especially his son who which lived 5 short minutes away) and other paid individuals, he was able to live on his own in Liberty, Indiana, with little care until the end of October 2017, when he moved into Whitewater Commons Living Facility.
He is survived by two children, Debra (Doug) Tidrow Sharp and David “Doug” Douglas (Kelly) Tidrow. He is also survived by his only sibling and brother, Jack (Bev) Tidrow. He also has 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren that have survived him, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by the love of his life, Dinah Tidrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Bart Tidrow.
Visitation for David will be on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St. Liberty, Indiana 47353.
