David K. Wise, 71, of Mooreland passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 11, 1949 in Albany, Kentucky a son of the late William K. and Nina Virginia (Kearney) Wise.

He attended New Castle Chrysler High School and received his GED at age 31. David retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2001 after 31 years of service. A folk artist, he carved wooden Santa’s and other figurines. He was named one of Americas top 200 artist by Early American Life Magazine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and attending antique/Folk Art Shows across the country.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Pamela (Eddy) Wise; son, Matthew Wise of Muncie; siblings, Jack Wise of Straughn, Don (Belinda) Wise of New Castle and Carolyn Sue (Phil) Conner of Muncie; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Gene & infant brother, Billy.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice, especially nurses Laura and Daniel for their dedication, compassion and care given to David.

Services will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Steve Huddleston officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E 91st St Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
