David Samson Short, 35, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in Winchester, on December 30, 1982, to David A. Short and Wanda Hardesty.

David was a 2001 graduate of Richmond High School. He worked at the Richmond State Hospital, the US Golf Academy, and numerous Golf Courses in the Richmond Area. David was an avid golfer and liked to teach it. He also enjoyed music, sports, video games and movies. He was a compassionate, caring gentleman that would brighten your day with a smile.
David is survived by his father and step mother, David and Robin Short of Winchester; his mother, Wanda Hardesty of Mt. Ettna, IN; a sister, Melisa Cook of Centerville; three step brothers, Bryce (Kathy ) Bost of Winchester, Wesley Bost of Ridgeville, and Nathan Bost of Richmond; two uncles, Michael (Toni) Short and Larry (Nita) Short all of Winchester; nieces and nephews, Bryce Bost II, Hayden Busby, Reagan Busby, Axcel Cook and Lillian Cook; his friend/brother, Glenn (Lisa) Hendrix; two god children, Graelyn Hendrix and Clayton Hendrix; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be at 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Walker Funeral Home.
Friends and family may call from 1-5 on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions made to the Richmond State Hospital, 498 NW 18th St, Richmond, IN 47374, with envelopes available at the memorial service.
