Deborah Jo Long, 66, of Lewisville, died Sunday morning, August 25, 2019, at her residence following a battle with cancer.

‘Debi’ was born in Rushville, October 9, 1952, to John B. and Shirley M. Temple Reynolds. She had lived throughout the United States and Germany while her step-father, Rodney Pollak, pursued his career in the U.S Air Force. In 1971, she graduated from Layton Senior High School, Layton, Utah, followed by attending Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

Debi married James R. Long on October 20, 1974 in an outdoor ceremony at Little Flat Rock Christian Church in Rush County. They had lived in Lewisville since 1976.

After she earned her Early Childhood Education certificate from Indiana University East, Debi organized an afterschool program, “Kids of the Kingdom” for the children of the community at the Lewisville United Methodist Church where she later served as the minister for twelve years. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables, as well as, cooking. Debi devoted her life to her grandchildren.

Debi is survived by her husband of over 44 years; her children and their spouses: Amber C. Frisbie, Jennifer M. Carpenter and Brent, all of Lewisville; Justin M. Long and Cindy of Frankfort; her mother: Shirley M. Pollak of Satellite Beach, Florida; her siblings: Morena Cameron of Melbourne, Florida; Cameron David Pollak and his wife, Tina of Titusville, Florida; her grandchildren: Andrew Frisbie, Adam Frisbie and his companion, Courtney Bryant Briar, all of New Castle; Cora Burton of Lewisville, Ava Bernice Carpenter and James Eli Carpenter, both of Lewisville; Jason C. Long and Jarah C. Long, both of Frankfort; her great-granddaughter: Audrey June Frisbie; many nieces and nephews.

Debi was preceded in death by her step-father: Rodney Pollak, her brother: Steven Pollak and her father.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday August 29, 2019 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Lewisville Cemetery.
