CONNERSVILLE – Dewey Palestine Isaacs, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday evening at his home in Connersville with his family at his side. A son of the late Jerry T. and Melva (Gabbard) Isaacs, Dewey was born in Jackson County, Kentucky, on September 18, 1935. Dewey has made his home in Connersville for over 60 years. He retired from D & M where he worked in press setup. Following retirement, he worked in the model shop at the Ford Plant. In his leisure, Dewey enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, woodworking and small engine repair. He was a member of the Baptist Temple and found comfort in his Bible reading and study.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, the former Barbara R. Brown. They were married in Richmond, Indiana, on March 21, 1958. Two sons, Jerry D. (Jennifer) Isaacs of Cambridge City and Michael R. (Jennifer) Isaacs of Connersville; Five grandchildren, Todd, James Michael, Jacob Michael, Taylor May and Delanie Isaacs; one great granddaughter, Izzy Isaacs; Seven siblings, Vernon and Paul Isaacs, Velma McHenry Day, Fern Seale and Marsha Zornes all of Connersville, Hazel Callahan of Greenfield and Tippy Toler of Richmond; several nieces and nephews.

Dewey was preceded in death by four siblings, Frank, Delbert and Herschel Isaacs and Yvonne “Cricket” Richmond.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Monday December 4, 2017 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Herman Chaney will officiate. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
