Doris Crawford, 78, of New Castle died tragically in an automobile accident in New Castle on June 25, 2020. Doris was born to Jess and Opal Massengale on September 5, 1941.
She was raised in New Castle and educated in the public school system. She married Jimmie D. Crawford in 1964, whom preceded her death in 2013. She retired from Chrysler Corporation after many years of service. Doris loved to travel, shop, and attend sporting and school events for her great nieces and nephews. She also loved talking shop with her fellow retirees. She treasured her family and friends and loved spending time with them. She especially loved her role as “Aunt Doe”.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Sue (James) Peavie, close cousin Joann (George) Frye. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends, some lifelong.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings; Charles, Mary, Jean, Jack, Danny and special nephew Chris.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with David Brock officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
