Dorothy Marie Wilson, 90, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, January 16, 2020, at The Waters of New Castle, where she had recently resided.

She was born in Albany, KY on July 2, 1929 to Ernest and Lena (Perdue) Kemplen. She had resided in the Hagerstown area for the past 17 years. Dorothy attended Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene. She was loved by all who came in contact with her. She loved to hand piece quilts and work on her plastic canvas projects.

She will be missed by her 3 children, Marjorie Shepherd (David), Edward Allen Hall (Christine) and Catherine Long; 5 step-children, Linda Parmley, Lesia Cornette, Tim Wilson, James Wilson and Brenda Tallent; 6 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Walter Kemplen, Jimmie Kemplen, Edwin Kemplen, Jessie Kemplen and Wendell Kemplen; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Kendall Beard.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Hall in 1974; her second husband, Fred Wilson in 2001; 2 stepsons, Freddy Wilson and Eddie Wilson; 3 brothers, Johnny Kemplen, Eugene Kemplen and Robert Kemplen.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, at Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene. Services will follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Craig Dusek and Rev. Robert Fannin will officiate. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
