Emily Jane Ward, 90, formerly of Connersville, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 14, 2020, at Sanctuary Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, Cincinnati.
One of four children of Ernest George and Katherine Isabella O’Reilly Roth, Emily was born on June 1, 1930 in Connersville. She attended St. Gabriel School and Connersville High School.
On October 9, 1948, Emily married Louis Frederick Ward. Mr. Ward passed away on September 5, 2000.
Emily was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she served on the St. Anne’s Altar Society. Formerly, she was a Girl Scout Troop Assistant Leader. In her leisure time, Emily enjoyed flower gardening, animals, watching Indiana University basketball, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Nancy Ward of Cincinnati, David Ward of Indianapolis, and Steven (Meg) Ward of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Zachary (Kristen) Ward, Gabriel (Kinsey) Ward, Carolyn (Corey) Huffman, Hannah (Kevin) Boehle, Margo Ward, and Matthew Ward; two great-grandchildren, Leo Ward and Clara Huffman.
Besides her husband of 51 years, Louis Ward, Emily was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Christine Ward; a brother, Joseph E. Roth; and two sisters, Mary Foster, and Betty DeVana.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
