Errol LeRoy Brant, 77, of Greens Fork, died August 8, 2018 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 15, 1941 to LeRoy and Betty (Burelison) Brant and graduated from Webster High School in 1959. Errol retired from the US Army in 1980 as a Chief Warrant Officer II after 20 years of service and served in Germany, Korea and Vietnam.
He was a lifetime member of Am Vets Post 38, in Greens Fork and attended the Greens Fork United Methodist Church. Errol loved music, and he and his wife of 43 years, Marlene, were part of the band “Night Life” which played many venues in Richmond and the surrounding area.
Errol called Greens Fork his home for 23 years. He was a devoted family man, who dearly loved his family, his friends and his country. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jeryl (Jay) Brant, a sister Cheryl Howard, two sons Ricky Brant and Scott Canon.
He is survived by his wife Marlene Brant, brother Teryl (Terry) Brant of Richmond and sister Carol Alcorn of Phoenix, Arizona. A son Tom (Wendy) Canon of Richmond, daughters Vicki Pugh of Greens Fork, and Tammy, Regina, Barbara and Sue of Oklahoma. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held August 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Greens Fork South Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held September 23, 2018, at the Greens Fork Community Center, at 2:00 pm.
The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Errol’s name to Am Vets Post 38, Greens Fork, The American Cancer Society or Reid Hospice. The family would also like to acknowledge, and thank, Reid Hospice for their compassionate care of not only Errol but the family as well. Also, for the many wonderful friends who’s visits, phone calls and prayers gave comfort.
