Funeral services for Francis David Kenny, 83, of Houston will be Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be from 1-2 P.M., followed by the service at 2 P.M.
Mr. Kenny died Nov. 26, 2019 in Houston.
Born May 28, 1936 in Utica, N.Y., he was the son of Robert Fulton Kenny and Anne Phelan Kenny. He graduated from John Carroll University in 1958. He was an Army veteran, served in the FBI, and worked as a private investigator.
He married his high school sweetheart, Elisabeth Ann Roberts, in 1958. Together they raised seven children; the family lived in Indiana, Tennessee, New York and Texas.
He was predeceased by his wife and his parents. Survivors include his children and their spouses: Francis David Kenny Jr. and Nancy Kenny of Tucson, Ariz., Kathleen Elisabeth Kenny and David Hunt of Brunswick, Maine, Robert Michael Kenny of New Orleans, La., Mary Karen and Robin Peck of North East, Md., Laura and Thomas Negri of Houston, Peter Joseph Kenny of Phoenix, Ariz., and Margaret Anne Kenny and Jeff Wright of Fayetteville, Ark.; siblings Brian and Judie Kenny of Norristown, PA, Laurence and Patrice Kenny of Merrimack, N.H., Robert and Sandy Kenny of Ft. Myers, Fla., and MaryAnn and Robert Wengert of Beavercreek, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Elisabeth Kenny Scholarship through the Stephen F. Austin State University Foundation.
