Fred Fox, age 79 of Connersville, passed away on March 29, 2022. Fred was born on January 28, 1943, in Connersville, the son of the late Harlan and Lena Terry Fox.
He graduated from Connersville High School in 1962, where he was a member of the first CHS wrestling team. On July 1, 1962, at Calvary Baptist Church, he married Marjorie (Marge) Jones. They shared close to 60 years together and blessed with five children.
He retired from Dresser Roots as a skilled machinist for over 54 years and previously he had worked for 2 years at Converto in Cambridge City. He was a member of UAW. From 1974 to 1999 he owned the family farm fencing business.
He and Marge were members of the Cornfield Cloggers and several square-dancing clubs for over 25 years. He enjoyed tending his apple trees and making cider, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Gary) Perkins of Mishawaka; four sons, Randy (Shirley) Fox of Elkhart, Kenneth (Michelle) Fox, Jeff (Stacy) Fox, and Tony (Becca) Fox all of Connersville; sister Sharon Higginbotham of Connersville; brother Harold Fox of Connersville; grandchildren, Adam Perkins, Zack Perkins, Jon Fox, McKenna Fox, Emiley Fox, Clayton Fox, Ashley Fox, Alex Fox, and Aric Fox; five great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephew.
Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Friday April 1, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday April 2, 2022, at 11:00 am with Pastor Rob Judd officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
