Gary Sandifar, passed away at his residence following a long illness surrounded by his loving family on June 1, 2022.  He was born August 27, 1949, the son of Dallas Sandifar and Birdie Jean Cogan, in Lafayette, Indiana.

Gary lived in Centerville, Indiana, and was a former resident of Florida for five years and California for twenty-five years. Gary served in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal from 1967 – 1970.  Gary received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and worked for IBM, ROLM, Centerstone, and also worked in Real Estate. Gary enjoyed being a pilot, scuba diving, running, and working on cars, especially Corvettes.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory; his children: Tammie (John) Sparks, Barney Sandifar and Westin Sandifar, all of Centerville, IN; parents: Dallas Sandifar and Birdie Jean Cogan; step-son: Toney Capps, Richmond; grandchildren: Jordan Blackwell, Centerville, IN, Kinsey Sparks, Richmond, Peyton Sparks, Bloomington, Layla Murphy, Centerville, Sammy Sandifar, Hagerstown; three great grandchildren: Melana Blackwell, Normani Wright and Carter Blackwell; one sister: Dr. Lynne Sandifar; three brothers: Dr. Michael Sandifar, Oakland City, IN, Larry Sandifar, Richmond, and Dr. David Cogan; two nieces: Tisha Dunnington and Jeanie Lynn Sandifar; six nephews: Larry Sandifar Jr., Richmond, Terry Sandifar, Richmond, Matt Sandifar, Oakland City, IN, Chris Sandifar, IN, and Michael Sandifar, Las Vegas, NV; a cousin: Floyd Sandifar; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Mary Luticia Mullins and Jack Mullins; and paternal grandparents: Clifford Sandifar and Pearl Sandifar.

Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
