Gerald Gilliam Sublett, 86, of New Castle, and formerly of Indianapolis, died early on the morning of Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on January 18, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Ben Eugene and Lucille Sublett.

Gerald joined the US Marine Corps at age 17 and served during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Miami University. He owned several businesses and worked for Chrysler Corporation and Naval Avionics. Gerald loved flying. He was a pilot and owned his own plane. He also loved horses.

Gerald is survived by his children, Braden (Tiffany) Sublett of Greenfield, Meagan (Matt) Kraus of New Castle, Laura Sublett-Seberg of Bradenton, Florida, Mark Sublett of Florida, and Tim Sublett of Indiana; grandchildren, Elizabeth Wallace, Emily Kraus, Lillian Sublett, James Kraus, Jack and Vera Sublett; a brother, Don (Shirley) Sublett of Indiana, and a niece Terri Sublett-Keefer of Franklin.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition with military honors provided by contingents from the US Marine Corp and the American Legion and V.F.W.
