Glenda Jean Olive passed away at her residence on November 8, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 22, 1940, to Edgar and Hester Clinger in Milton, Indiana.
Glenda had lived in Wayne County all of her life. She was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School. Following graduation, she married her soulmate and the love of her life and they were together 58 years. Mr. Samuel Olive survives.
Glenda had worked at various places; she was employed at Reid Hospital and Atlas Underwear. She was also an owner of Fashion Fabrics which led her to a Managerial position of the Notions Department at Adam H. Bartle Company. During her working career, she took time away to start and raise her family. Glenda loved to swim at YWCA; she encouraged her children to take up the sport and to excel with swimming and their education. She loved to pick wild raspberries and enjoyed going to Lake Palestine in Warsaw with the family on their pontoon boat. She also loved riding her motorcycle and square dancing.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her spouse: Samuel Olive; two sons: Mark Olive and Chuck Olive: five grandchildren: Tony Olive of Dothen, AL, Joshua Olive of Atlanta, GA, Amber Duncil of Richmond, IN, Samantha Olive of Minneapolis, MN and Grace Olive of Richmond, IN; seven great grandchildren: Noah and Zoey Olive, Ryley, Dawson, Zayne, Jackson and Emma; two sisters: Iris Bussen (Jim) and Donna Bronenberg (Mike); several nieces and nephews; and two longtime friends: Mary Smith of Cambridge City and Donna Amos of Connersville.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister: Janice Coleman.
