Harlen Hoover, 88, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Hickory Creek of New Castle, one day prior to his 89th birthday. He was born on November 19, 1931 in Albany, KY, a son of the late Delmar Hoover and Vesta (Ayers) Brumley.

Harlen retired from Ingersoll Steel in New Castle following many years of service. He loved his motorcycle and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Wallace Gene Hoover of New Castle; two grandchildren, Traci (Pastor Jeff) Jaco of New Castle and Troy Thurston of St. Louis, MO; four great grandchildren, Taylor Stockdale, Halle Thurston, Jay and Hope Jaco; great great grandson, Mason Stockdale; son-in-law, Billy Thurston of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Donreta Hoover; a daughter Barbara Thurston; great great grandson, Remington Stockdale.

Due to COVID-19 and the governor’s mandate, face coverings will be required.

Services will be at 3:00pm Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jeff Jaco officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
