Harold Marvin Stohler, 91, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Friends Fellowship Community, where he had resided for the past several months.
Marvin was born in Henry County on February 9, 1927 to Carl and Dorothy (Brumback) Stohler and was a life long resident of the Hagerstown area. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School and Rose Hulman Institute. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a retired employee of Perfect Circle/Dana Corp. He was a member of Hagerstown Lodge #49, F&AM, a long time member of the Hagerstown Airport Board, former owner of Hagerstown Dairy, former member of American Legion Post 333, and served as manager of Hagerstown Airport for many years. Marvin was also a long time member of Experimental Aircraft Association, where he served as president of the local chapter for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty (McCormack) Stohler; two children, Randy Stohler (Michelle), Cinda Stohler Blevins; three step-children, Mark Sharp (Teresa), Cindy Hunt (Michael) and Bud Brady (Jan); several grand and great-grandchildren; six siblings, Gene Stohler, Dick Stohler (Marilyn), Francis Stohler (Rosalie), Gale Stohler (Lana), Mary Louise Adamson (John) and Barbara Doughty (Smith); several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Stohler and his wife, Doris Stohler.
Visitation will be 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, September 29, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services ill follow at 12:00 PM. Pastor Paul Gearhardt will officiate. Burial will be in Brick Cemetery.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hagerstown Municipal Airport, c/o Town of Hagerstown, or National Parkinson Foundation
