Heather Lyn Crocker Wiland, a caring mother, partner, daughter, sister, and friend, left this world suddenly and unexpectedly on June 24, 2022 at the age of 38. She was born to Robert Lee and Rhonda Sue Crocker on December 21, 1983.

To know Heather during her childhood was to know daring feats of bravery. She once rode a sled off the top of a mulberry tree behind Trinity Lutheran Church. Years later, she would ride her bike too fast down East Main Street, crashing so hard that she left the longest scratch on the side of Thompson’s Drug Store.

Heather had a profound love of the outdoors. Starting as a child, Heather camped most summer weekends with her family, extended family, and favorite family friends. As she grew, she developed a love for hiking and fishing. She would often head to her favorite spot on the Cuyahoga River in Kent to drop a line.

Heather graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 2002, and went on to graduate from Kent State University with a degree in criminal justice. This move did not come as a surprise to her friends and family, as Heather was one of the earliest known true crime junkies. Heather was proud to spend most of her career working in the criminal justice field in one way or another.

Heather’s family and friends will sadly miss her incredible sense of humor and her kind soul.

Heather is survived by her partner, Charles Jones, along with their 6 month old son, Jaxson, and Charles’s sons, Noah and Gavin. She is also survived by her daughters, Ava Crimi and Lillian Wiland, along with her parents, Robert and Rhonda Crocker, and sisters, Melissa (Andy Rhee) Crocker and Lindsay (Michael) McMahon.
