PERSHING – Helen J. Terhaar, 57, of Pershing, passed away Sunday February 4, 2018 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
A daughter of the late Fredrick L. and Grace M. (Davis) Huddleston, Helen was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 12, 1960.
A lifetime member of the Western Wayne community, Helen was raised in Milton where she attended elementary school and graduated from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City with the class of 1980. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Helen worked as a teacher’s aid for the Connersville and Centerville School Systems with students in the special needs program.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Danny C. “Bub” Terhaar. They were married at the Milton Christian Church on November 1, 1980. 2 sons, Kenneth (Erica) Terhaar of Pershing and Daniel (Raysha) Terhaar of Centerville; 5 grandchildren, Morgan, Shannon, Abby, Brycen and Gavin; 3 siblings, Jerry Huddleston of Somerset, KY, Rebecca Wilkinson of Flemingsburg, KY and Larry Huddleston of Goshen; father in-law Joe Terhaar; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was preceded in death by her father Fred in 1999; her mother, Grace in 2012; 2 nephews, Tony Jr. and Michael Wilkinson; mother in-law, Frances (Lambert) Terhaar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday February 8, 2018 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Tracy Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday February 7th.
