Hettie Lee Luff-Tucker, 92, of New Castle passed away on the afternoon of Monday, April 25, 2022 at Heritage House of New Castle, Indiana.

She was born on July 30, 1929 in West Fork, Indiana, a daughter of the late Arthur Roscoe and Goldie Leora (Goldman) Land.

Hettie grew up in Crawford County with her family and later moved to Richmond where she spent most of her life. She retired from Richmond State Hospital after 39 years as a psychiatric attendant. Hettie enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, gardening and word search puzzles.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children Mike (wife: Kim) Luff of Richmond, Roger (wife: Donna) Luff of Elizabeth City, NC, and Kevin (wife: Pam) Luff of New Castle; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Lung of Bloomington; a brother, Joseph Land of Canton, Georgia and extended family members including all the staff and residents of Heritage House.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Bud Tucker; a brother, Wallace Land; two great-grandchildren, Mayson Luff and Tyler Luff.

The family would like to send a special thank you for the excellent care received at Heritage House over the years.
