RICHMOND, Ind. – Irene C. Saylor, age 90, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Reid Health.

Born November 24, 1928, in Fountain City, Indiana, to Hamilton and Henrietta Gregg Martin, Irene lived in Richmond and Centerville, Indiana, most of her life. She was a graduate of New Paris High School in Ohio. Irene retired from Alcoa. She was a member of Southview Church of the Nazarene. Irene enjoyed hard work, helping others, being useful, and staying connected with her family. She also enjoyed all types of sewing and needlework, flowers and gardening, puzzles and games, reading, music, and attending her church.

Survivors include her daughter, Vickie D. (Edward) Isaacs of Homosassa, Florida; son, John B. (Jennifer) Saylor Jr. of Hillsborough, North Carolina; grandchildren, Laura Isaacs, Jennifer Kenney, and Jacob Isaacs; great-grandson, Caleb Kenney; sisters, LaDema (Lloyd) McDermitt, Faye Martin, Esther Shuler, and Ruth Martin; brother, Victor (Gladys) Martin; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John B. Saylor Sr., who died October 14, 2002; parents; and siblings, Sharon Pearce, Emmett Martin, Bernice Schlosser, and Denver, Elvan, and John Martin.

Visitation for Irene C. Saylor will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. P.A. Mingus officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
