RICHMOND, Ind. – On December 29, 2017, Jack, age 75, said his final goodbyes to Becky, his beloved wife of 50 years; his treasured daughter, Stephanie; his wonderful grandchildren, Allison and Nicholas; and his special stepsister, Shirley.

Jack was born in Richmond, Indiana, on March 1, 1942, to Lowell and Barbara Test Alexander. He spent most of his life in Richmond, Indiana, and traveled to California many summers to visit his father and dear stepmother, Bea “Toddy” Alexander. Jack graduated from Richmond High School in 1960 and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of California-Fresno in 1964. He worked in the Richmond community as an accountant from 1964 until his retirement in 2005.

Jack had a lifelong passion for reading. He loved growing flowers, feeding the birds, listening to beautiful music, walking on a beach, and always savored a good meal. Jack and Becky enjoyed the Oregon Coast and traveled there as often as possible. Mostly, he loved his family and dedicated his life to them.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Horr Alexander of Richmond; daughter, Stephanie Alexander Stout and grandchildren, Allison and Nicholas Stout of Richmond; stepsister, Shirley Dunehew of Crescent City, California; nieces; nephews; cousins; and sisters-in-law.

At Jack’s request, there will be no public services. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.

Those who wish to honor Jack may make memorial contributions to: Reid Foundation for the Hospice Program, 1100 Reid Parkway, Richmond, IN 47374 or Morrisson-Reeves Library Children’s Department, 80 N 6th St., Richmond, IN 47374.
