Obituaries - Jack Witt

Connersville, IN – Jack Witt, 82, of Connersville passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 2, 2017 at Reid Hospital in Richmond.

The youngest of four children of Lloyd and Matttie Begley Witt, Jack was born on October 19, 1934 in Madison County, Kentucky. As a child, he came to Fayette County, Indiana with his family and graduated Connersville High School with the class of 1953.

In April of 1953, he enlisted in the United States National Guard. He was discharged with the rank of Sargent after serving for seven years.

On May 26, 1955, Jack married the former Charlene Ann Hanlon. Mrs. Witt passed away on January 25, 1998.

Jack was employed at Roots Blower for 36 years, retiring in 1997 and was an avid beekeeper for forty years.

Survivors include four daughters, Enola Ann (Michael) Delaney, Theresa Wissel, Melody (Kevin) Wright and Patrice (Michael) Schneider, all of Connersville; eleven grandchildren, Shawn Keith, Derrek Keith, Kyle (Lindsi) Glass, Melissa Delaney, Michelle Delaney (fiancé Robert Nohl), Joey (Crystal) Wright, Morgan, Megan and Garrett Schneider, Lacey Wright (companion Danny Steele), Nichole Wright; eight great-grandchildren, Sydney, Sarah, Alexis and Paige Keith, Leo Glass, Branson and Maxwell Wright, James “Buster” Dalton. Jack’s loving companion of 17 years, Sue Frank; his sister, Ernestine Newton of Cambridge City, Indiana; and his brother, Bill Dwight (Dorothy) Witt of Clearwater, Florida.

Besides his wife of over 43 years, Charlene Witt, Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Genevieve Moreland.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Mal Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in Valley Grove Cemetery.
