Jackie R. McIntosh, 75, of Spiceland, passed away due to a brief illness on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his home in Spiceland. He was born February 28, 1946 in New Castle, a son of the late Glenn and Myrt (Hamilton) McIntosh.

A 1965 graduate of Mays High School, Jackie retired from Ford Motor Co., in Indianapolis following over 31 years of service. He was a member of the Spiceland Church of the Nazarene, where he served as maintenance man.

Giving, loving, caring, hard working, selfless, and a lover of God and people, are just a few words that describe Jackie. A servant’s heart, who loved helping people, expecting nothing in return was his mantra. An avid wood worker, he made beautiful furniture, gardened, canned, fished, and he also loved High school and college basketball.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 52 years, Anita L. (Bowen) McIntosh, who he married August 16, 1969; two sons, Scott (Shelly) McIntosh of New Castle and Eric McIntosh of New Castle; five grandchildren, Bryant (Vanessa) McIntosh of Evanston, IL, Madison (T.J.) Davis of Hagerstown, Taylor McIntosh (Kaleb Harrison) of Spiceland, Chase McIntosh of Hagerstown, and Jarrett McIntosh of New Castle; two great grandchildren, Oakley Harrison and Wrenley Harrison; a special young lady who he loved like a granddaughter, Hannah Miller; sister, Jerri Rucker of Rushville, Sylvia (Bill) Hatfield of Knightstown, and his twin sister, Judy Rucker of Carthage; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Juanita Wilson McIntosh and a brother, David McIntosh.

Services will be at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Josh Robertson officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. prior to the service. Military rites will conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion and VFW, along with a contingent from the U.S. Air Force.
