James C. Rowland, age 92 of Connersville, passed away on August 12, 2022, at Reid Health in Richmond. James was born on November 3, 1929, in Connersville, the son of the late Clay and Mollie J. Palmer Rowland.
James was proud to serve his country in the United States Army. He served from March 1951 to March 1953 with the 28th Infantry stationed in Germany. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
James was an owner/operator of Rowland Brothers Garage for over 45 years, where he had worked as an auto mechanic. He also had worked as a carpenter and plasterer. He had also been employed at Daum’s Dairy (1946), Porcelain Steel and Rex Manufacturing.
James is survived by a niece, Audrey McKinney; nephew, John Rowland; and good friends William Golden, Lesli Taylor and Melvin Higbie.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne, Dale and Paul Rowland; two nieces, Carol Eddy and Karen Neath; and two nephews, David Rowland and Jeff Rowland.
Graveside service will be conducted on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Dale Cemetery with Pastor Robert Lee officiating.
