James (Jim) D. Penticuff, age 58, was called home to Glory on October 21, 2021. A lifelong resident of New Castle, Jim was born January 20, 1963, the son of the late James O. and Doris Penticuff.
Jim was a 1981 graduate on New Castle Chrysler High School and received his bachelor’s degree in 2005 from IU East. Jim was a former member of Southside Nazarene and a current member of Bethesda Worship Center, where he was very active in ministry and currently serving as the leader of men’s ministry. Jim’s spiritual gift was acts of service and he offered that gift freely any time he was presented with the opportunity to do so.
Jim was a case manager for New Castle Correctional Facility for several years and most recently the Program Coordinator for Henry County Community Corrections.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Shelton.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Penny Penticuff; his sons, Matt (Aimee) Penticuff, James “Jimmy” (Keena) Penticuff; a daughter, Doris “Deejay” (Kenese) Jenkins. The role Jim loved most was that of being Papaw to Adisun, Camron, Jocelynn and Lennyn. He is also survived by niece, Amber Pickens (Arty) and nephews, Brad (Trish) Rhyndress and Tony (Kaylee) Rhyndress .
Friday nights have long been known as firepit nights at the Penticuff home for friends and family. In keeping that spirit alive there will be a gathering around the fire at their home, 1225 St. James Drive New Castle on November 5th from 6 to 8 pm. Please stop by and honor Jim and his memory. A celebration of Life will be held at Bethesda Worship Center at a later date.
