CAMBRIDGE CITY- James Nathaniel Smiley, 73, passed away Monday evening March 9, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Connersville, Indiana.

A son of the late John and Geneva (Sanders) Smiley, Jim was born in New Castle, Indiana on December 12, 1946. Jim grew up in the Straughn community and lived most of his life in Cambridge City.

He retired from DANA Corporation in Hagerstown where he worked as a machine operator. He was then employed as a courier for 10 years at Mid America Clinical Laboratory in Richmond. Jim also owned and operated Second Time Around Appliance and Furniture Store in Cambridge City. In his leisure, Jim loved to fish.

Survivors include 4 children, Kelly Ann Wilson of New Whiteland, James A. Smiley of Milford, Kimberly Sue Boulware and Walker Lanning both of Connersville; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay (Brockman) Smiley and his sister, Cheryl Arlaud.
