James Owen Murrah, age 80, passed away on June 27, 2022 while in Florida. He was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky on September 11, 1941 to Walter and Anna Wethington Murrah.

James worked in the telecommunications industry for 30 years and was retired from GTE (now Verizon). After retirement he drove a milk truck for Pence and Potter for a short time before working for his son’s company, Murrah Dealer Services. He was also a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church. James was happiest spending time with family and his dogs. If anyone needed help, he was always the first to offer. James enjoyed fishing and having coffee every morning with a group of his retired friends. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Pat; children Christopher (Tanya) Murrah and Kelly (Kenny) Williams; grandchildren Hunter and Jackson Williams; nieces Suzy, Sharon and Fran. James is preceded in death by both parents and siblings Vernon, George, Joe Betty Jane and Lucille.

Services for James will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday July 9, 2022, with a visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church. Pastor LydiaGrace Quine-Espiritu Gray will officiate. Burial to follow in Earlham Cemetery. Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’s name to your favorite animal shelter.
