Jane Kathryn Johnson, age 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, with her family gathered near.
Born March 14, 1945, in Indianapolis, to Dr. George M. and Mary L. Millis Johnson, Jane grew up in Richmond, Indiana and lived in Indianapolis most of her adult life. She held a BS from IUPUI and was employed in several positions at Eli Lilly over her 33-year career from 1967 – 2000. A second career was that of a beloved, caring care-giving aunt to the nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of her extended family.
She was a volunteer at Riley Hospital’s infant care unit and attended St. Luke’s UMC where she also served as caregiver for infants during Sunday services.
Survivors include her sister, Sarah (Larry) Copeland of Carmel, Indiana; brothers Charles (Laura) Johnson of Fishers, Indiana, and Craig (Valerie) Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Liz Van Dyke, Leslie Mosley (Mike Fehm), Anne, Sam, and Rachel Johnson, Matt (Erica) Copeland, and Brett (Cheryll) Copeland; aunt and uncle, James (Sara) Millis of Columbus, Indiana; great nieces and nephews, Allison, Josh, Luke and Lindsey Van Dyke, Ruby, Caleb, and Luca Fehm.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Jane Kathryn Johnson will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
